Kamaz says production falls 15% to 3,800 truck kits in April

MOSCOW, May 11 (PRIME) -- Russian largest truck producer Kamaz decreased its output 15% on the year to 3,800 truck kits in April, the company said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Wednesday.

“The fall was expected because the company’s management made a decision to reduce the daily pace of the assembly line to 180 units per day, which was based on the assessment of the market situation and the need to avoid a glut of inventory,” the company said.

In January–April, the company shipped 15,200 ready trucks, chassis, assembly and repair kits, a 6.6% rise on the year.

The company’s engine plant produced 3,900 engines and engine units in April, a 18% fall on the year, and 16,400 units in January–April, a 5.4% rise on the year.
